Hospital Awards OB Hospitalist Contract to Osceola OB-GYN, P.A.

Kissimmee, FL – Osceola Regional Medical Center has joined forces with a local hospitalist group to continue providing 24/7 coverage to the hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology patients. The new contract, which is set to go into effect on July 15, was awarded to Osceola OB-GYN, P.A. from Kissimmee and Hunter’s Creek.

The hospital based physicians will continue to be available in Osceola Regional’s Baby Suites birthing unit around the clock, to provide care to obstetrics patients and respond to unexpected emergencies. The hospitalists will also support Osceola Regional’s dedicated obstetricians as back-up for deliveries and emergency C-section.

Osceola OB-GYN is led by Mark Palazzolo, DO, OB/GYN, who also serves as Medical Director of Osceola Regional’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Graduate Medical Education (GME), and by Michael DeNardis, DO, OB/GYN.

“We look forward to providing 24/7 hospitalist coverage to the Osceola Regional Obstetrics Program,” Dr. Palazzolo stated. “Since our group is already overseeing the OB Residency program, it is a logical extension of our relationship with Osceola Regional to provide OB hospitalist services as well.”

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program at Osceola Regional is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. It is the only American Osteopathic Association OB/GYN Residency program in the southeastern United States. The residency program is scheduled to begin operation on July 1.

The new partnership comes at an especially exciting time for Osceola Regional Medical Center. The hospital recently completed a $1.6 million renovation to the Baby Suites, with upgrades to beds, baby warmers, basinets and technology. New mothers can give birth in one of the luxurious, private labor and delivery rooms. The hospital also provides the only Neonatal ICU (NICU) Level II facility in Osceola County. The NICU provides highly skilled, life-saving interventions to newborns who need special attention. For more information about The NICU and Baby Suites, please call (800) 447-8206.
