If the patient is diabetic, they should not take glucophage (metformin) medication for 38 hours after contrast has been injected. Patients should be instructed to contact their personal physician regarding lab studies prior to resuming diabetic medication.

As part of our contrast policy, please inform the technologists at Osceola Imaging Center if any of the following apply:

Digital Mammogram

No perfume, powder, deodorant may be worn on the chest or underarm areas. You must bring your prior mammograms with you if they were not done at Osceola Imaging Center. A comparison mammogram is very important to accurately interpret your current study. Without a previous exam for comparison, the radiologist may determine that your study is incomplete, and you may need to return for additional tests. You may feel more comfortable in a two piece outfit. Make sure you do not schedule your exam one week before your menstrual period.

3T MRI

No special preparation is necessary. Patients with a pacemaker and some types of aneurysm clips are prohibited from having an MRI. Certain types of surgically implanted mechanical devices or hardware may prohibit you from having your MRI. Allow approximately 1 hour for the examination. Please avoid wearing jewelry as this may interfere with the exam.
